Weirton police make drug arrest

WEIRTON - Weirton police, on Tuesday, arrested a Pennsylvania man on drug charges.

Jason Michael Yaros, 29, or Georgetown, Pa., was arrested Tuesday and charged with one felony count of possession with the intent to distribute marijuana.

According to information provided by the Weirton Police Department, officers observed Yaros "acting in a suspicious manner" near a business in the city.

Upon questioning him, Yaros became nervous, according to police, and admitted to officers he had illegal controlled substances inside his vehicle.

After gaining permission to search the vehicle, police officers reported finding approximately 7 ounces of marijuana with a street value of approximately $1,500, as well as digital scales, packing materials and other items indicative of distribution operations.
