To the Editor,
What makes my son Ken Thorn the right choice for sheriff? Being a currently active law enforcement officer. When Ken Thorn goes to work he puts on a badge and a gun. Although we have a safe low crime community he puts his life on the line. You never know when a serious crime will happen near your home.
In fact 10 years ago when my grandson and his wife bought a house in Chester, there was Ken Thorn (my son) helping them move in on his day off. When a suspect armed with a gun, made his way into Chester. With absolutely no hesitation my son jumped into action. Spending the evening in the woods searching for the suspect. Off duty, no uniform, life on the line.
That's a man I'm proud to call my son and that's the man you want as sheriff. Win or lose I am proud of him, the man he is, the service he has done for this community. He is not a career politician, he is not the type of man that will have a fancy speech, he speaks from his heart. He has the knowledge and experience to do the right things not just for Chester but the whole county.
I believe a win for him is a win for Hancock County.
