To the Editor,
We senior citizens who live in Weirton and are members of AARP are wondering why Ohio citizens who also have AARP can use the facility of Millsop Community Center's Silver Sneaker program free of charge and we who live in Weirton must pay to belong and participate in the program.
I called AARP asking the reason for this and was informed this program has not been approved by AARP for residents of Weirton, W.Va. I am glad Ohio residents can participate at no cost, but feel it's unfair for the Weirton residents that AARP has drug their feet approving this for us senior citizens who would like to participate.
I have called/written to U.S. Rep. David McKinley, Sen. Joe Manchin III and Sen. John D. Rockefeller IV bringing this issue to their attention.
