POINTER, Dorothy J., 78, of Steubenville died Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Dixon Nursing Home.
She was born December 3, 1933 in Steubenville. She is the daughter of the late Walter and Pearl Smoger Pointer.
Dorothy retired in 1993 from Weirton Steel where she was a sorter in the tin mill and a graduate of Catholic Central High School, class of 1951.
Surviving are her aunt, Frances Smoger Piper of Steubenville; her niece, Mary Kay (Jim) Sweeney of Steubenville; and her nephews, Edmund Narewski of Louisville, KY, and Craig (Kathy) Smoger of Steubenville.
Dorothy was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and the former St. Staniuslaus Catholic Church, where she was past president of the CWC and a member of the Weirton Steel 25-Year Club.
Calling hours are Friday 4-8 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Catholic Church, with Fr. Timothy Huffman as celebrant. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. There will be a vigil service at 4 p.m. Friday.
