CHILLICOTHE - Steubenville Legion Post 33 went 3-1 through two days of the Chillicothe Tournament.
Post 33 defeated Chillicothe Post 62, 4-1, and Chillicothe Post 757, 12-0, Friday after beating Post 757, 11-3, and losing to Piqua, 11-6, Thursday.
Aleks Porreca went the distance against Post 62, striking out two and walking four while allowing three singles. Brenton Colabella had two singles and two RBIs, Porreca a single and RBI, Alex Young two singles and JoJo Pierro and Justin Corsi a single each.
Pierro earned the six-inning win over Post 757. He fanned four and walkeed three. Young had two singles and an RBI, Corsi a triple, single and RBI, Bryan Pierro, Jim Panella and Chris Murphy a single and RBI, Steve Mihalyo an RBI and Pat Pizzeferrato a single and two RBIs.
Mihalyo earned the win in Thursday's victory over Post 757. He fanned four and walked three. Colabella had a triple and three RBIs. Porreca and Young delivered two singles and an RBI each, JoJo Pierro a single, double and RBI, Bryan Pierro three singles, Panella a double and two singles, John Linn a single and RBI, Murhphy an RBI and Josh Merriman a single.
In the lone loss, Piqua scored 10 times in the bottom of the sixth inning. Corsi, who took the loss, had a home run and three RBIs. Colabella added a single and two RBIs, JoJo Pierro a single, double and RBI and Young two singles.
Post 33 (14-9) will take on Zanesville at 10 a.m. this morning against Zanesville.
The winner will play for the tournament championship at 1 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
