STEUBENVILLE - Post 33 dropped a doubleheader to Strongsville Sunday at Vaccaro Field, 23-1 and 5-1. Steubenville is 15-12.
Strongsville scored 10 times in the top of the first inning to chase starter Josh Malesky and cruised. Alecks Porreca doubled for the only extra base hit for Post 33.
Steubenville's Chris Murphy went the distance in the Game 2 loss. He struck out five, walked one and gave up eight singles.
Patt Pizzeferrato tripled and singled for Post 33. Justin Corsi had an RBI single.
Steubenville visits St. Clairsville Tuesday and the hosts Richmond (Wednesday) and Toronto (Thursday). All games are 6 p.m. starts.
