BENNETT, Margaret I., 85, of Newell, WV, passed away Monday, June 25, 2012 at Valley Hospice Care Center North.
She was born February 22, 1927 in Newell, WV, a daughter of the late Joseph E. and Mary J. McElroy Wetzel.
Margaret was a 1944 graduate of East Liverpool High School. She owned and operated her own grocery store with her late husband Robert "Bob", Bennett's Grocery Store, for over forty years. She was also a homemaker.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. "Bob" Bennett whom she married February 29, 1948; daughter, Kristen J. Anderson; six brothers and one sister.
Surviving are her daughters, Margaret "Peggy" (George) Pugh of Steubenville, OH and Barbara (David) Wagner of Gainesville, FL; son, Robert C. "Duke" (Christy) Bennett of Wellsville, OH; sister, Madeline McCoy of Weirton, WV; nephew, Eugene "Tooge" (Toots) Wetzel of Calcutta, OH; 13 grandchildren; two great grandsons and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Shorac Funeral Home (formerly McClave Funeral Home), 611 N. Fourth Street, Steubenville on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12:30 p.m. with Rev. Jason Elliott officiating.
