MORRIS, Abraham G. "Abe," Jr., 63, of Mingo Junction, OH, passed away Saturday June 30, 2012, at Weirton Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 16, 1949, in Nutter Fort, WV., a son of the late Abraham G. and Ruth J. (Heater) Morris, Sr.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph D. Morris; a sister, Sarah Lowe; two brother-in-laws, Bobby McCartney, Sr. and James Cunningham; and mother and father-in-law, Floyd H. and Virginia M. Kendall.
Abe worked as a pit man at the Center Foundry in Warwood, WV and he was a member of Rosemont Chapel.
Surviving are his wife of Linda (Kendall) Morris, whom he married on June 9, 1967; two sons, Donnie Morris and Ronnie Morris, Sr., both of Mingo; two daughters, Vickey Morris and Sabrina M. Morris both of Mingo Junction; four brothers, Samuel (Diane) Morris and James (Tammy) Morris both of Mingo Junction, John (Glenda) Morris of Wintersville, Ohio and Thomas (Ginger) Morris of Follansbee, WV; three sisters, James (Evelyn) Higgins of Mingo Junction, Alice (Ralph) Watson of Wallace, WV and Dorothy McCartney of Lumberport, WV; and three grandchildren, Stephen L. and Benjamin H. Hill and Ronnie Morris, Jr.
Friends will be received at Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. On Thursday funeral services will be held at Rosemont Chapel at 1 p.m. with Pastor Charles "Sonny" Shoe, officiating. Interment will follow at New Alexandria Cemetery.
