W.Va. Derby to be on FSN

CHESTER - The 43rd Grade 2, $750,000 West Virginia Derby will be televised live nationally on Fox Sports Net at 5 p.m. on Aug. 4.

Kenny Rice will host the coverage. Kurt Hoover will be the analyst and Millie Ball will provide additional reporting. Mountaineer announcer Peter Berry will provide the race calls. The Fox telecast will also include live coverage of Mountaineer's $200,000 West Virginia Governor's Stakes, a 1 1/16-mile event for 3-year-olds and upwards.

"This will be the first time our West Virginia Derby will be shown in high definition," said Rose Mary Williams, Mountaineer's director of racing. "And the national exposure we'll receive will be a huge boost to the race's growth and prominence. We have a high regard for the Fox crew. I'm really excited about this."

Toronto to hold football camp

TORONTO?- A free youth football camp will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. July 13 at the Toronto football field for children in grades 4-8.

The camp will be taught by the Toronto High School and middle school coaching staffs.

Sorrenti records an ace

CHESTER?- Judy Sorrenti made a hole-in-one at Mountaineer Woodview Golf Course. She used a 5-wood on the 105-yard par 3 17th hole.

The witnesses were Donna Burch and Sharon Coleman.

Hanselman records an ace

CHESTER?- Frank Hanselman made a hole-in-one at Mountaineer Woodview Golf Course. He used a pitching wedge on the 140-yard par 3 17th hole.

The witnesses were George Vacherese, Charlie Ashbee and Dave Chafin.
