Esther Sapp

SAPP, Esther Mozingo, 89, of Knoxville, OH, passed away Sunday July 8, 2012, at the Wyngate Senior Living Community in Weirton, WV.

She has resided there for the past nine years since the death of her beloved husband, J. Paul Sapp. They were married Sept. 28, 1963, and shared 39 wonderful years of marriage together.

Esther was born June 8, 1923, one of seven children to the late Charles Elzie and Beulah (Meeks) Monzingo at their home in Wellsburg, WV.

She graduated from Wellsburg High School in 1941. She worked at J. L. Martin in Baltimore, MD, building airplanes for the war as a young lady. Esther then returned home to care for her mother during her illness prior to her death, ultimately retiring from First National Bank after many years of service.

Esther was a member of the Hilltop United Presbyterian Church near Toronto. She was also a member of the Grange in Knoxville, Friends of Ruritan and the Jefferson Co. Farm Bureau.

Esther is survived by her siblings, Ruth Eft of Columbus, OH, Betty Pentland of Corinna, Maine, Marjorie (Bob) Ensell of Pittsburgh, PA, Cora Belle Geary of Steubenville, OH, Ralph (Ginger) Mozingo of State College, PA, Charles Mozingo of Latrobe, PA, along with several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Esther will be held on Friday, July 13, 2012, from noon to 2 p.m. at the J. E. Foster Funeral Homes, Inc., 701 Findley St., Toronto, OH, followed by her funeral service at 2 p.m. A longtime family friend, William "Bill" Warren, will provide Esther's funeral service and interment will follow in Island Creek Cemetery in Toronto, OH.

Memorial donations for Esther may be offered to Hilltop Presbyterian Church, 100 Co. Road 46, Toronto, OH 43964.
