At approximately 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, a Bruceton Fuel Services tanker-truck carrying diesel fuel had a brake malfunction while traveling southbound on state Route 18, along the John L. Brunner Bypass in Burgettstown. The malfunction caused the rear tires to catch fire, and the Burgettstown Volunteer Fire Department was called to douse it. The Pennsylvania State Police and McDonald Police, which also serves Burgettstown, also responded. The diesel fuel was transferred to another tanker truck. -- Summer Wallace-Minger
