BATEMAN, Allen, 63, of Richmond, died Wednesday July 18, 2012 at home.
He was born July 21, 1948 in Steubenville. He is the son of the late Edward W. and Verna Faye Hammack Bateman.
Surviving are his wife, Vicki Tress Bateman whom he married September 18, 1971; one son, Ben (Stacey) Bateman of Belmont, OH; and one daughter, Melissa (Aaron Hively) Bateman of New Middletown, OH; two sisters, G. Shelly Bateman of Mingo Jct., and Polly (Jamie) Hubbard of Wintersville; and five grandchildren, Megan, Matt and Zach Bateman, and Tres and Blythe Hively.

Allen was a member of Kolmont Community Church; was a foreman at Cryogenics Construction; and served his country in the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam and was a Purple Heart recipient.
Allen was a member of Jefferson County Sportsman Association and Brilliant American Legion Post 573.
Calling hours are Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville, where services will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Rev. Sam Retzer will officiate. Entombment in Ft. Steuben Burial Estates.
