MOORE, Dorothy M., age 79, of Davenport, FL, formerly of Weirton, WV, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at Haines City Health Care Center, Haines City, FL.
She was born Nov. 11, 1932, in Marshall County, WV, the daughter of the late Orval and Hazel Blake Briggs.
Dorothy was a retired nursing clerk with 23 years at Weirton Medical Center and 14 years at Winter Haven Hospital.
She was a member of Eastern Star 147, Rebekah Lodge 79, both in Weirton and a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Weirton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Grady Mark Moore, and a sister, Donna Beyser.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Hiram Vernon Moore, five sons, Larry V. (Paula) Moore, Sr., of Newport, VA, Ronald W. (Lyn) Moore, of New Cumberland, WV, Dennis F. (Jolene) Moore, of Proctor, Randlyn (Linda) Moore of Proctor, and Anthony T. Moore of Davenport, FL, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends Monday from 10 until time of the funeral services at 11 a.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville, WV, with Rev. Marvin Taylor officiating.
Interment in Mt. Hobert Cemetery, Proctor, WV.
