RHOADES, Grace B., 95, of Weirton, WV, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 19, 2012, at Valley Hospice Center at Trinity East Hospital, Steubenville, OH.
She was born on March 4, 1917, in Steubenville, OH., the daughter of the late Harry and Jennie Gough.
Grace was a long time member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Steubenville, OH. She worked at the former Sears Department Store, and was a Grey Lady at the old Ohio Valley Hospital. Grace was a life-time member of the Red Hat Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Rhoades of 67 years; daughter, Anna Jane Boyd; one grandson, Robert F. Shaw; and a great-great-granddaughter, Sophia Palavis.
Grace was a loving mother. She is survived by two children, Robert Rhoades of La Grange, IL and Joan Quin of New Concord, OH. She leaves behind two loving grandsons, David Shaw of Follansbee and Archie (Ruth) Shaw of Paris, PA, who cared for her the last few years. She also leaves five additional grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and five great-great- grand children.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, July 23, 2012 from 10 a.m. until time of a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 284 Lovers Lane, Steubenville, OH with the Reverend Fayette Gross, officiating.
Entombment will follow at Ft. Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville, OH.
