It's not only children who will be coming to Vacation Bible School offered at Mingo First United Presbyterian - there will be animals of all shapes and sizes coming through the doors for a visit, too.
The theme for this year's school slated for July 30 through Aug. 2 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.is "Sonrise National Park."
"Along with the Bible stories and spiritual learning, there'll be all kinds of fun," said Bible school coordinator Cathy Woodward. "There'll be group games and recreation every night, crafts, fellowship and snacks for all. But as the theme suggests, we're hoping to create a park-like atmosphere, and we're doing that by bringing in live animals and surprises."
The surprises include an appearance by Smokey the Bear on July 31; and animals from the Good Zoo in Wheeling during the Aug. 2 session.
"There'll be food every day and a short program on Friday (Aug. 3) for the parents to see the kids perform," added Woodward.
All children are welcome to attend.
