Susanmary Tedrow

TEDROW, Susanmary A., 95, of Weirton, WV, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 26, 2012 with her daughter at her side in the Weirton Geriatric Center.

She was born on May 22, 1917 in Connellsville, a daughter of the late Elmer Gallagher and Pearl Colbert Gallagher Bryner.

Mrs. Tedrow worked as a pediatric nurse's aide at the Weirton General Hospital.

A member of the Paris Presbyterian Church, she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and was the President of the Loyal Worker's Class.

She was also a member of the Star of the Valley Rebecca Lodge, Weirton; Order of the Eastern Star, Weirton; Eastern Star Card Club 147; of the Women's Auxiliary of Weirton's Police Reserves where she served as Chaplain.

She enjoyed writing poetry and had several poems published under "Poems by Sue," and her specialty was canning dill pickles and was famous for her dill pickle recipes.

An avid traveler she enjoyed traveling from coast to coast, quilting, and helping others.

Her husband, Eugene L. Tedrow, Sr., preceded her in death on July 1, 1997.

She is survived by her son, Eugene L. Tedrow, Jr., and wife, Georgine, of Macungie, PA; three daughters, Bonita G. Cain, and husband, Ralph, of Burgettstown, Nancy Jo Young, and husband, Rodger, of Florida, and Linda Sue Kopras and husband, Jim, of Florida; 9 grandchildren, Troy A. Cain and wife, Lora, Tracy P. Cain and wife, Karen, Timothy Kopras, K. J. Kopras, Tammi Lattimore and husband, Terry, Aaron Tedrow and wife, Suzann, Mary Margaret Taylor and husband, James, Chrissie Young, and Bobby Jo Davis and, husband, Reginald; 14 great-grandchildren, Marnie P. and Joey M. Cain, Tyler and Brianna Lattimore, Samantha and Chase Tedrow, Alexander, Madeline, and Nicholas Taylor, Alivia, Aleah, and Fred Young, Allanna Davis, and Reginald Davis Jr.; one sister, Kathleen Tharp, of Connellsville; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are two brothers, Robert and Henry Gallagher; 5 sisters, Francis Francisco, Betty Cooley, Esse Keller, Florence Dye, and Grace Cooke.

Friends will be received on Friday from 4-8 p.m. in the Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA, 15021, where services will be held on Saturday, July 28 at 11 a.m. with Pastor James Rhodes officiating. Internment will follow in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery.
