JACKSON, Anna M., 73, of Weirton, passed away on Tuesday July 31, 2012, at the Trinity Health Systems West, in Steubenville, OH, with her loving family by her side.

Anna was born on July 20, 1939 in Steubenville, OH, she was a daughter of the late George W. and Helen L. Wells Jackson.

After attending West Virginia State College, Ann worked at Mercy Hospital as a certified X Ray Technician, before joining the City of Weirton.

Ann was a dedicated Director of Social Services for the City of Weirton since 1975, where she worked closely with the tenants of Wyles Terrace, Overbrook Towers, and Freedom Place I and II. In her honor the computer room at the social services was named the "Ann Jackson Computer Room."

Known for her caring, nurturing and loving ways, Ann was the 2011 recipient of the Boys and Girls Club of America Outstanding Achievement Award. She will be remembered by the thousands of children she helped as the Program Coordinator for the Boys and Girls Club of Weirton, where she ran the after school programs.

She was a Catholic by faith.

Ann is survived by her brothers, George W. (Kathy) Jackson, John R. (Joni) Jackson; Sisters, Barbara "B.J." (Leavie) Davis, Attorney Helen Jackson Gillison, and Diana E. (Brian) Jackson all of Weirton, WV; nephews, Attorney Edward L. Gillison, Jr., Brae M. Bryant, Michael Lytle, George A. and Jonathan Jackson; nieces, Sharon and Krista Jackson and Deanna Mitchell;; and a host of great nieces nephews and friends.

Visitation will be 4-8 PM Thursday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV, where funeral services will be conducted 11 AM Friday.
