CZERNEK, Thomas Anthony, 89, of Weirton, WV, passed away Aug. 3, 2012, at Acuity Specialty Hospital, Steubenville, OH.
He was born Aug. 6, 1922, in Weirton, WV, the son of the late Anthony and Mary Krowczyk Czernek.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Petzold Czernek; and sisters Sophia Zabek, Viola Kumor, Ann Januszkiewicz, and infant sister Agnes.

Surviving are his wife, Frances Posovich Czernek; daughters, Jean E. Czernek and Sandra E. Matviko (John); and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at the Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home Inc., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV, on Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery. Military funeral honors will be provided by American Legion Post 10 Honor Guard and the WV Honor Guard.
