PYLES, Clara Pearl, 90, of Steubenville, OH, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012 at Sienna Woods.
She was born in Carrollton, OH on Dec. 17, 1921, a daughter of the late Jesse L. and Nellie C. Lotz Slates.
Pearl was a charter member of Brentwood United Methodist Church. She was also a member of United Methodist Women and the Kmart Breakfast Club. Pearl was the owner of the former Pearls Cut and Curl Beauty Nook in Wintersville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Pyles in 1988; brothers, Lorin and Harold Slates.
Survived by her son, Roger G. Pyles of Steubenville; daughter, Kathy J. (Daniel) Furda of Wintersville; sister, Wilma Arpen of Jacksonville, FL; granddaughters, Danya Furda and her husband, Jim Pinkham of Gahanna, OH and Dana (John) Koehl of Hilliard, OH; great grandchildren, Makenna and Ian Koehl.
Friends may call at Dunlope- Shorac Funeral Home 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, OH on Friday 6-8 p.m., where funeral services will be Saturday, 11 a.m. with Rev. Bill Westling officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben. Memorial contributions may be made to Brentwood U.M. Church or the Jefferson County Animal Shelter.
