Edward Chanoski

CHANOSKI, Edward S. 91, of Steubenville, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, at Lancia Villa Vista, surrounded by his family.

He was born Aug. 5, 1921, in Steubenville, the son of the late Joseph and Pauline Klimaszewski Chanoski.

Edward was retired from Laborers Local 809 Carpenters and was a U.S. Army World War II veteran.

Edward was a member of Triumph of the Cross Catholic Church, A.A. for 51 years and Laborers Union Local 809 for 60 years.

Edward is also preceded in death by his wife; Elverda Rock Chanoski, son, James "Sebo" Chanoski, one brother, Frank Chrzanowski and five sisters, Ida Kurkowski, Stella Odorrizzi, Elizabeth Katusin, Leona DeVjerna, and Lillian Blackburn.

Surviving are two sons, Lee (Christi) Chanoski of Weirton and Edward J. (Sandra) Chanoski of Steubenville; one brother, James (Dorothy) Chrzanowski of Adena; five grandchildren, Tammy (Steve) Nadianos, Edward J. (Laura) Chanoski, Joseph Chanoski, Zachary Chanoski and Luke Chanoski four great-grandchildren, Joe Chanoski, Amanda Nodianos, Vanessa Nodianos and Olivia Chanoski.

Calling hours are Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd. A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Msgr. William Cornelius, celebrant. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. There will be a vigil service at 7:45 p.m. Thursday.
