NELSON, Eleanor (Parisi) 86, formerly of Steubenville, passed away in Lawrenceville, Ga. on July 10, 2012, with her daughter at her side.
She was born Oct. 20, 1925, a daughter of the late Dominick and Donata Vernacchio Parisi.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Nelson; her son, Robert Nelson and her daughter, Donna Goodwin. five brothers, Joseph, Peter, Andrew, George, Steve "Bones," and Ross "Babe"; also two sisters, Mabel Heine and Alyce Potenzini.
Surviving are her daughter, Lori (Steven) Philpot of Georgia, brother, John (Baldy) Parisi, sister, Gracia (Pete) Prihodko both of Steubenville; a daughter-in-law, Cathy Nelson, two grandsons, Rob Nelson of Akron and Sean Nelson of Steubenville; a granddaughter, Dawnetta (Ken) DeMichael of Medina. OH and three great-grandchildren, Taylor, Atonia and Dominic.
Eleanor enjoyed traveling, especially the times spent on the Jersey shore and Hilton Head Island with her nieces.
A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2012, at St. Peter Catholic church.
