RUBIS, Charles Jr., 86, of Canton, formerly of Amsterdam, died Saturday afternoon, August 11, 2012, in Manor Care of Belden Village at Canton.
Born March 19, 1926, in Donora, Pa., he was a son of Charles and Mari Anna Kasinecs Rubis Sr.
Charles was an Army veteran of WWII serving in the European theater of operations. He was retired from the the Timken Company of Canton after 35 years of service.
He is survived by: one son, Jeffrey (Carol) Rubis of Cincinnati; one daughter, Debra (Thomas) Hammond of Midlothian, Texas; one sister, Julianna Hall of Apache Junction, Arizona; three grandchildren, Melissa Hammond, Christopher Rubis, Betsy (Thomas) Seebohm; two great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Renee Seebohm and Audrey Jolie Seebohm; one sister-in-law, Mary rubis of Dover.
He was preceded in death by: two grandchildren, Phillip Hammond and William Alexander Rubis; and four brothers, Leonard, Steven, Alexander and Joseph.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home at Amsterdam with burial to follow in the Bergholz Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 11 a.m. until service time.
