Clair Neeley

NEELEY, Clair W. "Pete," 84, of Weirton, WV, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at the Weirton Medical Center, after a short battle with cancer.

He was born March 10, 1928, in Holidays Cove, WV. The son of the late Clair Wesley Neeley Sr. and Elsie Drummond Neeley.

He was also preceded in death by brothers; Kenneth Neeley Sr., Clyde Neeley, sisters; Hazel Duffield, Nancy Mae Agnew, Doris Sacripanti.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, member of American Legion Post 10, 25-year club of Weirton Steel Company, A friend of Bob's. "Pete" retired from National and Weirton Steel Corporations as an equipment maintenance repairman.

Surviving are his wife, Cyrena Nelson Neeley, whom he married Aug. 15, 1964, in Princeton, ME, daughter; Connie Beane Thrasher of Seminole, FL, son; Richard Clair Neeley of Steubenville, OH, grandsons; Clay Thrasher (Rebecca) of Marietta, GA, Chris Thrasher (Tiffany) of Acworth, GA, Richard Neeley (Brandi) of Wintersville, OH, Joshua Neeley of Weirton, WV, five great-grandchildren, extended family of Duane and Jackie Nelson, Gaynor Nelson, several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at the Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, Inc., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV, on Friday noon until time of funeral at 2 p.m. with Reverend Dr. Christina Hosler presiding.
