SLAY, Claire, 90, of Weirton, WV, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, at the Brightwood Center, Follansbee, WV.
She was born May 30, 1922, in New London, CT, the daughter of the late Levi and Anna Fourand Sweeney.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, John "Jack" Danford Slay on July 9, 2003, two brothers and four sisters.
Claire was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and the Three Score Seniors.
Surviving are her daughter; Jill Bay and her husband, John of Thorndon, Wellington, New Zealand, grandsons; Christopher Bay and his wife, Bronwyn and their daughter, Charlotte Claire, and grandson, Shaun Bay, all of New Zealand.
Visitation will be at the Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, Inc., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV, on Sunday from 5-8 p.m., where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. with Reverend Larry Dorsch presiding.
Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery.
