DONNER, Elmer G. "Pete," 87, of Fairmont, WV, formerly of Follansbee, WV, passed away and reunited with his wife Elizabeth, to be together forever, on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at Fairmont General Hospital, WV.

Pete was born on Oct. 21, 1924, in Brilliant, OH. He was the son of late Charles Elmer and Margaret Jeanette (Bucy) Donner.

Pete was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army, 8th Armored Division under General Patton. He retired from Verizon (the former CMP Telephone Company) where he was a CO Repairman working the entire Northern Panhandle of WV. Pete was a loyal member of the Follansbee American Legion, Fairmont Elks 294, Fairmont VFW Post 629, and the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.

In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Donner, married for 58 years until her passing away on June 18, 2006; five siblings, John Martin, Sam, and William "Bill Donner, Sarah Jean Grega, and Pearl Bibbo; granddaughter, Kimberly (Lowe) Gulan, and a great-grandson, Matthew Tench.

Pete is survived by three children, Jackie (Tom) Lowe of Steubenville, OH, Karen (Garry) Richman of Fairmont, WV, and Peter Donner of Follansbee, WV; four grandchildren, Ryan and Tyler Richman of Fairmont, WV, Erica (Paul) Tench of Belton, SC, and Peter Michael Donner of Augusta, GA; four great- grandchildren, Danyelle Harvey, Gionna Gulan, Riley and Bryson Tench; a sister, Annie "Snookie" Donner; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 from 5- 8 p.m. and again on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. at the James Funeral Home, 1245 Main Street, Follansbee, WV, with Reverend Gene Sheppard, officiating.

Internment will follow with full military honors by the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad at Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee, WV.
