NEW CUMBERLAND - The Hancock County Senior Wellness Center will hold a Hawaiian luau from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 11 at the senior center located at 647 Gas Valley Road.
Activities will include horseshoes, billiards, cornhole and ladder ball, bingo and senior relays. Prizes will be awarded.
Dinner will include pulled pork, barbecue chicken, sweet potatoes, green beans, potato salad, tropical fruit salad and pineapple upside-down cake.
The cost is $7 per person.

Hancock County Senior Services will be closed Sept. 3 in observance of Labor Day.
The winners of the photography contest have been announced. Mary Ann Fish took first place in the Seniors at Work or Play category with "Wedding Renewal Vows." Margie Burgess won the Black and White category with "Lincoln" and Nature with "Purple Blooms." Loranna Tate won the People category with "Big Girl Pants." Edsel Emery won Landscapes and Best of Show with "My Home Town." A second contest is planned for July 2013.
Some $20 senior farmer's market vouchers remain available; they expire Oct. 31. Those requesting vouchers must be at least 60 years old, meet income guidelines and live in Hancock County.

Bonnie's Bus, a mobile mammography unit, will be at the senior center from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 6. Medicare, Medicare and all major insurances will be accepted. Call the senior center at (304) 564-3801 to schedule an appointment to compare drug plans with a Senior Health Insurance Program counselor.
