MENAS, Marigo (Mary), 94, of Weirton, died Monday, August 27, 2012 in the Valley Hospice Care Center North, Steubenville, OH.
Born February 25, 1918 in Pittsburgh, PA, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Angeline Kyriakopoulos Thimoleas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Menas, four brothers and a sister.
In 1939, Marigo received her BA from the University of Pittsburgh. After a distinguished teaching career spanning 24 years, Marigo retired from the Brooke County Board of Education. She was a member of the Weirton Covenant Church in Weirton.
Marigo is survived by her son, George Menas, and his wife, Irene, of Newport, RI; daughter, Angela Blakley, and her husband, John, of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Francine, Marianne, Tim and Amanda and great-grandchildren, Christos, Eleni, Ryan and Theodore.
Friends will be received Monday from 2 until the 4 p.m. funeral service at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Pastor James Foglio will officiate.
Interment will be in Church Hill Cemetery, Turtle Creek, PA, Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at noon.
