STEUBENVILLE, Ohio - Women's Day services will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday at the shared ministry of Simpson United Methodist and Phillips Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal churches located at Fifth and Slack streets.
The theme is "The Greatest Verse of All - The Sure Winner." Ivy J. Smith will be the speaker. Smith is a member of the shared ministry, and, for the past five years, served as Christian education director and pastor-parish relations chair at McKinely United Methodist Church in Dayton, Ohio.
She is the daughter of the late Rev. William F. and Sharon Kirtdoll and a Mingo High School graduate.
She has a doctorate in ministry and master's degree in theological studies, both from the United Theological Seminary in Dayton and a bachelor's degree from Bethune-Cookman University.
She lives with her husband, David, and daughter Lydia in Mingo Junction and works in Wheeling.
Anna Ruth Haire-Farr and Vanessa Sizemore are Women's Day co-chairs. The Rev. Lydia E. Spragin is the shared ministry pastor.
A dinner will be served immediately following the service.
