River's Edge

members meet

The August meeting of the River's Edge Garden Club of Toronto featured the club picnic and guest night held at the home of Gail Saner. There were 10 members attending.

Guests Alicia Joynson and Mickey Cope were welcomed.

Before the meeting, members made sun prints. Flowers and leaves were pinned to photo-sensitive paper, which was then exposed to sunlight and the images transferred to the paper.

Members brought covered dishes for the picnic. Saner decorated outdoor table settings with flower arrangements in Melhorn Dairy milk bottles which they took home as keepsakes.

A report on the upkeep of Newburg Landing garden site was given, and a schedule distributed for the remainder of the summer.

Janet Saner, Gail Saner and Ginny Popson will meet to plan the programs for next year.

The next meeting will be at the home of Debbie Artman. The subject will be sunflowers.
