Shiloh Faith Assembly to hold

spaghetti dinner Saturday

WEIRTON - The Shiloh Apostolic Faith Assembly's Usher Department will hold a back to school spaghetti dinner from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at the church's dining hall located at 3000 Weir Ave.

Both spaghetti with meat sauce and spaghetti with meatballs are available. The meal includes salad, garlic bread and dessert. Eat-in and take-out are available. Delivery is available within 10 miles.

Country Friends host Sands of Time

COLLIERS - Country Friends will host the Sands of Times Saturday at the Memorial Hall located at 402 Old Police Lodge Road.

The doors open at 6 p.m., and the dance starts at 7 p.m.

Covered-dish dinners and open mic nights are held every Monday and Friday. The doors open at 4 p.m., the meal begins at 5 p.m., and open mic begins at 6 p.m.

Country Friends Foundation Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting Christianity, friendship and brotherly love through music. All proceeds go to charity.

Library to hold story hours

FOLLANSBEE - The Follansbee Branch of the Brooke County Public Library will be holding story hours for children, ages 2-5 and their caregivers at noon Monday and Sept. 17 and 24.

Children will enjoy a story, craft, games and a snack.

Mended Hearts to meet

WHEELING - The Greater Wheeling Area Chapter 280 of Mended Hearts Inc. will meet Monday at the Ohio Valley Medical Center's Conference Room B.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for light refreshments, and the meeting will start at 7 p.m.

Janel Trovato-Vass, a physician's assistant with cardiologist Dr. Robert Fanning, will discuss defibulators and CHF devices. No reservations are necessary.

Mended Hearts is a national support organization for heart disease patients and their families.

Library to screen film

WELLSBURG - The Brooke County Public Library will be showing "The Lucky One," a PG-13-rated film based on a Nicholas Sparks book, at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Church to sell lunches

WELLSBURG - Christ Episcopal Church at 1014 Main St. will resume its monthly lunch sale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 13.

Lunches consisting of roast beef sandwiches, chips, a beverage and a slice of peanut butter sheet cake will be sold for $6.50. Individual sandwiches also will be sold for $4.50 each.

Take-out and deliveries to local businesses and shut-ins is available by calling (304) 737-3432 after 8:30 a.m. that day.
