Steubenville

Theft: About $40,000 in copper wiring taken from the former RG Steel plant, Wednesday.

Arrested: Tim Bowers, 33, Burgettstown, carrying a concealed weapon (knife), Wednesday.

Arrested: Ronald Hawthorne Jr., 30, 3102 county Road 25, Rayland, bench warrant and possesion of drug abuse instrument, Wednesday.

Theft: A 125-pound spool of copper wire taken from business in the 500 block of North Fourth Street. Police noted the business was broken into.

Arrested: Jerry Tillman, 55, 511 Logan Ave., bench warrant out of municipal court, Wednesday.

Cited: Jason Hendricks, 34, 713 Woodlawn Road, expired registration.

Shots fired: Report of shots fired in the area of McDowell and Oregon avenues around 1 a.m. today, but officers found no evidence of shots fired.
