CIPRIANI, Rose Mary (Cipoletti), 91, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2012, at home with her family at her side.
She was born August 31, 1921, in Wellsburg, WV, to the late Giulio and Asunta Cipoletti.
In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Anthony J. Cipriani Sr. (2001), with whom she shared 55 years of marriage; and brothers John Cipoletti, Patsy P. Cipoletti, James Cipoletti, Sam Cipoletti and Paul Cipoletti.
Rose was co-owner of the former Community TV and Appliance in Wellsburg with her husband for 40 years. She was a member of St. John Church, the Altar Rosary Society, and Brooke County Easter Seals.
Remarkably, she served as a volunteer at Wheeling Hospital beyond her 90th birthday.
While barely a teenager, she began working in her brother's grocery store in Wellsburg. She later worked at the G.C. Murphy Store in Wellsburg. After marrying the love of her life on July 5, 1945, she dedicated her life to making those around her happy. A devoted homemaker, Rose will be remembered for hosting regular Sunday morning gatherings and holidays in her home for nearly 50 years.
She is survived by her children, Anthony "Butch" (Angela) Cipriani Jr. of Wellsburg, George (Annette) Cipriani of South Charleston, WV, Susan (Les) Grimm of Paducah, KY, Mary Ellen (Chris) Paull of Wellsburg, Bill (Cathy) Cipriani of Wellsburg, and Chris (Cindy) Cipriani of Wheeling; two brothers, Jules "Boots" (Jean) Cipoletti and Frank "Red" (Mary Margaret) Cipoletti, both of Wellsburg, WV; 12 grandchildren, Jay Cipriani, Michael Cipriani, Allan Grimm, Andy Grimm, Brian Paull, Lauren Paull, Vincent Cipriani, Eric Cipriani, Kristin Cipriani Moody, Kara Cipriani, Dominic Cipriani, Gianna Cipriani; and six great-grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Friends will be received on Saturday, September 8 from 6-8 p.m. and again on Sunday, September 9 from noon to 2 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. at the Mullenbach Funeral Home, 669 Main St., Follansbee, WV. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 10 at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Wellsburg, WV, with the Rev. Fr. Dan Pisano as celebrant. Vigil services will be held on Sunday evening at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Franklin Cemetery in Wellsburg, WV.
