holding indoor yard sale
ELDERSVILLE, Pa. - The Eldersville United Methodist Church will hold an indoor yard sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 22 at the church located at 15 Church Road.
Proceeds benefit the church's Roof Fund.
Light exercise class offered
COLLIERS - Janet Caprarese will conduct a Sit and Get Fit exercise class, for all ages and focused on balance, strength and stretching, at 9:30 a.m. each Wednesday at Olde St. John's Episcopal Church.
The cost is a $2 donation to the church, which is at the intersection of Eldersville and St. John's roads. For information, call (304) 670-0081.
Children's craft offered
WELLSBURG - Children, ages 9 and up, are invited to decoupage their own unique notebook for school at the Brooke County Public Library on Sept. 27 at 5:30 p.m.

Library to screen film
WELLSBURG - The Brooke County Public Library will be showing the PG-13-rated film, "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel," at 1 p.m. Sept. 28.
It involves British retirees who travel to India to take up residence in what they believe is a newly restored hotel. Less luxurious than its advertisements, the Marigold Hotel nevertheless slowly begins to charm in unexpected ways.

Church to hold fall-themed event
COLLIERS - Olde St. John's Episcopal Church, at Eldersville and St. John's roads, will offer a variety of hot food and baked goods and display an assortment of quilts, old and new, at its second Fall Festival Sept. 29 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The church's members will be selling barbecued ham sandwiches, ham, cheddar and apple butter sandwiches, home-made chili and chicken noodle soup and old-fashioned West Virginia apple cake.
Visitors also are invited to bring their own quilts for display between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. A note with the owner's name, address and phone number should be pinned to the back and the quilts should be picked up at 4 p.m.
There also will be assorted new and used fall and Christmas decorations for sale and a basket drawing.
The church has a long history, having originated in 1793 with a log structure later burned down by Native Americans. The current brick building was constructed in 1849.
