Hurley presents aging program

WEIRTON - The Four Seasons Senior Citizens Association met Sept. 19 at the Serbian American Cultural Center, with First Vice President Angela Gillette presiding.

Chaplain Mary Rose Spano gave the invocation and asked for a moment of silence to honor deceased member Regis Molyneaux. Members recited the Pledge of Allegiance and sang "God Bless America."

Gillette welcomed Rena Malson, guest of John Geary, and Josie Cline, guest of Jean Burdette.

After dinner, Janice Hurley, Wellness Coordinator from Weirton Medical Center, presented a program on aging.

Reservation Chair Josie Cekinovich reported 103 reservations. She reviewed cancellation policy and thanked callers and workers at sign-in tables.

Members recognized the September birthdays of Patti Beltrame, Jennie Muscara, Edie Mitchell, Cil Findley and Dino Rossi and the anniversary of Tom and Rose Barbara.

Marge Trinone sent a get-well card to Roy Posey and a sympathy card to the family of Regis Molyneaux. The group sent a get-well card to Trinone.

The tour director reviewed the following upcoming trips:

Oct. 20, Quecreek Miners Memorial and "The Lettermen" concert, Windber, Pa.

Nov. 7-8, "Jonah" and "Church Basement Ladies 2," Lancaster, Pa.

Gillette appointed the following members to the Nominating Committee: Bob Burskey, Carol Valenti, Dino Rossi, Rita Orler, Dorothy Blankenship, Chris Sklenar and Ron Fallert. Members may begin paying dues for 2013 at the October meeting.

Eugene Matey was awarded the free dinner from the club.

Chris Sklenar and Nick Rodrigues won the 50/50 drawing. Tom Barbara, John Geary, Jasper Wamsley, Barbara Cerra, Chuck Rupani, Irene Rupani, Tony LaRosa, Barbara Libengood, June Pushkarich, Kathy Hardsouk, Joyce Dobbs, Dolores LaRosa, Rose Barbara, Jenny Muscara and Al Cellini received mums from Ianetti's Garden Center.

The next meeting will be held Oct. 17.

Following the closing prayer, Gillette adjourned the meeting. Members enjoyed cards and bingo after the meeting.
