To the editor:
Hats off to Donald McFall Jr. He's a recent teacher of the year at Kent State University and has other awards in his accounting expertise and teaching. In a world of those who couldn't care less, he is a person who couldn't care more. He has a shining star personality for enriching the lives of others.
He was recently invited to speak about money management by Patty Lamantia, the fifth-grade teacher at Karaffa Middle School in Toronto. Donald immediately said yes, and also invited his top students to participate.
Lamantia was grateful. McFall and his students engaged the fifth-graders in monetary games. The children learned the value of money and the proper recording of money. They learned about accountability, a skill that is a lifetime skill.
I thank Donald McFall Jr. for sharing his expertise with the pupils, and I'm sure that your top students who supported your desire to help others benefited. It is a blessing knowing that your dedication to help the fifth-graders made a difference.
