WINTERSVILLE, Ohio - About 350 people attended the third Follansbee High School All-School Reunion held at St. Florian Hall.
The event opened with drum major Bob Drake leading a parade of former majorettes and cheerleaders accompanied by the school's old fight song.
Charlie Banfi served as master of ceremonies. Banfi was a member of the Class of 1969, the last class to graduate from the school before Brooke High School opened.
The Rev. Hoyt Allen, a Follansbee graduate, delivered the invocation, and Nada Gesheff Todd presented a memorial service honoring classmates who have died.
Special recognition went to the oldest graduates attending - Amelia Sebastinelli DiLorenzo of Steubenville, Erdella Daugherty Hannen of Weirton and Kathryn Brown Gardei of Colliers, all 1938 graduates; and 1939 grad Bessie Burton Eddy of Follansbee.
The event was planned over 18 months by a committee headed by Norma Thomaselli Henson, Class of 1954; and Mary Ann Boyd Thorne, Class of 1951.
As its last act for 2012, the group donated $500 to the Follansbee Branch Library, where it has met regularly.
