St. Thomas Episcopal group

will meet at 7 p.m. today

WEIRTON - The St. Thomas Episcopal Church's Episcopal Church Women and Men group will meet at 7 p.m. today. Pharmacist Gary Mastromichalis will be the guest speaker.

rummage sale

WEIRTON - The Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church will hold their semi-annual rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church located at 101 Lisa Court.

Clothing and household items will be available.

Marland pool fundraiser set

WEIRTON - Marland Heights Community Association will hold an oldies dance from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Marland Heights Pool.

Legend will perform. The band's first performance was at the pool's first oldies night in 1996. Harry Stock, who was a disc jockey at the Weirton Community Center in the 1960s, also will be at the event. Food and drink will be available for purchase. Those who have Kroger discount cards are encouraged to bring them for "an added bonus."

The community association also will be holding an Oktoberfest from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Marland Heights Park.

The events benefit the Save the Marland Heights Pool Fund.
