Legion Auxiliary to hold craft show Saturday, Sunday

HOOKSTOWN, Pa. - The Hookstown American Legion Post 952 Ladies Auxiliary will host its annual fall craft show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the legion post.

Class of '57 will meet today

WEIRTON - The Weir High School Class of 1957 will hold their monthly social at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Three Springs Drive Eat'n Park.

All classmates, spouses and friends are welcome.

Senior center to hold dance today

WEIRTON - The Greater Weirton Area Senior Center will host Hank Vincent and the Stone Street Station from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. today.

Doors open at 5 p.m. The cover charge is $5 per person. Quarter bingo will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday. All ages are welcome. Those attending may bring their own snacks.

Car show Saturday

COLLIERS - Colliers Church of the Nazarene on Harmon Creek Road will host a classic car show from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The cost for car owners is $5, with 75 dash plaques and 21 trophies to be awarded. Disc jockey Tommy D will provide music.

Boosters to hold Night at the Races

WELLSBURG - The Brooke High School Football Boosters will hold a Night at the Races at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Wellsburg Fire Hall to benefit the football team.

The cost is $20 for those interested in "sponsoring" a horse and includes food and drinks. Those interested in sponsoring a horse should call (304) 737-2782, (304) 670-3428, 670-3432 or (304) 374-9137. For those coming just to watch, tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the door.

There also will be a 50-50 drawing and door prizes.

Life Chain to be held Sunday

WEIRTON - The Weirton Pro Life Group is organizing a Life Chain, where those participating will pray for an end to abortion from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday along Main Street.

It is a nondenominational event, and lawn chairs, umbrellas and strollers are welcome. It will take place rain or shine. Signs will be available to participants at St. Paul Catholic Church on Main Street.

The group also is seeking volunteers to pray outside local Planned Parenthood offices in two-hour shifts as part of the 40 Days for Life initiative running through Nov. 4.

World Communion Day is Sunday

NEW CUMBERLAND - The First Presbyterian Church, located at 201 Court St., along with five other Presbyterian churches in upper Hancock County will host World Communion Day at 11 a.m. Sunday.

A covered-dish dinner will immediately follow the service.
