Haunted school returning to Weirton

October 4, 2012
By CRAIG HOWELL - Managing editor (chowell@weirtondailytimes.com) , Weirton Daily Times

WEIRTON - The ghosts and goblins will be coming out in force in the coming weeks as residents are invited to tour a haunted school and visit with its undead inhabitants.

The "Haunted School of Terror: The Sequel" kicks off Saturday at Krazy Bout Sportz in Weirton, with ghoulish activities running each weekend from 6 p.m. to midnight.

"It runs every Friday and Saturday in October," Krazy Bout Sports co-owner Patty Soplinski said.

Entrance to the Haunted Schoolhouse, located at 2850 Weir Ave., is $10 per person. Attractions will be spread throughout two floors of the building, which previously served as the Dunbar School.

The theme will continue with the story from last year's inaugural event, following a group of students at the school, but with a few twists.

"It's Johnny coming back to school," Soplinski said.

While Soplinski wouldn't give away any details, she said visitors will have a fun and frightening experience, even if they stopped by for last year's activities.

"There are a lot of additions this year," Soplinski said. "We have some things no one in the area has."
