Man arrested for breaking in door
STEUBENVILLE - Charles B. Myers, 26, of 116 Logan Ave., Mingo Junction, was arrested by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department after he allegedly kicked in the door to his former girlfriend's house on Monday evening on Mellwood Drive, Toronto.
A deputy reported the former girlfriend said Myers was at her door, knocking and claiming to be "Sheriff Henderson." The former girlfriend said she had a protection order against Myers, the sheriff's department reported.
Myers then kicked in the door and went inside, the sheriff's department reported. Myers was found upstairs in the house and arrested, a deputy said.
The former girlfriend said Myers told her he had numerous guns in his car and was there to take the child they had in common, the sheriff's department reported.
Deputies located the car a short distance away but no guns were found. A deputy said duct tape and zip ties were found inside the vehicle.
Myers was taken to the county jail on pending charges of burglary, domestic violence, violation of a protection order and impersonating a police officer.
