And the winner is ...

October 10, 2012
Weirton Daily Times
It was a lucky night for 12-year-old Evan Naylor of Steubenville who went home as the winner of a 3/4-karat diamond ring valued in excess of $4,500 during the 18th-annual Taste of the County sponsored by the United Way of Jefferson County. During the festivities Tuesday night at St. Florian Hall in Wintersville, Naylor had one of eight keys that opened a treasure chest of special prizes, where lucky keyholders then selected an envelope with a number corresponding to their winning prize. Naylor, a seventh-grader at Harding Middle School and the son of Robert and Lisa Naylor, accepted his bling from Chip Warren of Discovery Jewelers in Wintersville, who donated the ring. Taste of the County attracted a crowd of United Way supporters who enjoyed the cuisine and desserts of area restaurants, bakeries and caterers and had an opportunity not only for treasure chest winnings but mystery bag items, a 50-50 drawing and a drawing for a gift tree with certificates valued at more than $1,200. Patrons voted Froehlich’s Classic Corner in Steubenville as the recipient of the people’s choice award. - Janice Kiaski
