NEW MANCHESTER - The Hancock County Senior Center will hold its fifth annual open house from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 25 at the facility located at 647 Gas Valley.
The event will showcase the services, activities, events and programs the agency offers, including Medicare counseling, social activities, fitness classes, educational workshops and wellness activities, transportation and in-home services.
The event will include hors d'oeuvres and light refreshments, door prizes and gifts.

Bingo, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays;
Crafting, 11:30 a.m. Mondays;
Line dancing, 1 p.m., Mondays;
Tia Chi, 5 p.m. Mondays, 11 a.m. Wednesdays and 4 p.m. Thursdays;
Singing Seniors, 10 a.m. Tuesdays at area nursing homes;
Everybody's Fitness, 10 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays;
Wellness Group, 4 p.m. Tuesdays;
Zumba, 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays;
Arthritis Foundation, 4 p.m. Thursdays; and
Wii bowling, 1 p.m. first and third Thursdays.
The senior center is seeking volunteers to transport the Singing Seniors group to their weekly engagements in a Hancock County Senior Services vehicle. Those available should contact Associate Director of Facilities and Vehicles Jerry Fields at (304) 564-3801.
Special events this month include:
Oct. 19, Calcutta Wal-Mart trip. Space is limited. Call by Monday to register a seat. All purchases should fit into two large cloth shopping bags.
4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 22, Painting with Sue.
Sue Tate will conduct a four-week painting class. A $25 participation fee covers all materials.

2 p.m. Oct. 23, voting machine and early voting seminar. Hancock County Clerk Eleanor Straight will hold a seminar on the touch-screen voting machines and early voting, which begins Oct. 24.
