Unionport holding Apple Stirrin' Time

UNIONPORT, Ohio - The Unionport Grange 2728 will hold the 34th annual Apple Stirrin' Time Saturday and Sunday.

The festival includes apple butter-making, apple cider-making and making and baking ginger cookies. Antique tractors and engines will be on display, and a cruise-in will be held Saturday. Entertainment includes Ally Tweedy, area Girl Scouts, Apple Kids, Vinyl Classics, Flying Eagle Tots, Tom Graham and Mac and Rue Saturday and Ally Tweedy, area Girl Scouts, Apple Kids, Ally and Makara, Three for Him, O and E Tots, Anna Ault and Sands of Time Sunday. An apple pie baking contest will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday. For information, call (740) 944-1533. A look-alike contest will be held at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 21. Those participating are asked to bring a photo of their look-alike. For information, call (740) 944-1446.

Ornaments, Christmas decorations and gifts will be available at the Christmas cabin. Other attractions include Ye Olde Post Office, Country Barn, Cheese Place, Country Restaurant and miniature train rides.

A pancake and sausage breakfast is held at 8 a.m. each day. Food includes barbecue chicken, open kettle bean soup and chili, apple fritters, apple dumplings, apple cider, apple butter, bread, pizza, nachos, tacos in a bag and French fries.

Admission and parking are free. Unionport is located on County Road 39, off state Route 22.
