To the Editor,

On Thursday, October 4, 2012, our daughter, Madonna goalkeeper Amy Davis, was the recipient of some wonderful sportsmanship extended by the Brooke High School Lady Bruins Soccer Team.

After the 10 Brooke seniors had been recognized and honored during their Senior Night festivities, the announcer called the Bruin captains to mid-field and asked the lone senior, Amy, from the Madonna squad to join them. The Bruins then presented Amy with a yellow rose and acknowledged her four years of playing high school soccer at Madonna.

The six Bruin players applauded her, extended numerous hugs and congratulations to Amy, posed for a photo with her, and then all went back to playing the second half.

To say Amy was surprised by the inclusion would truly be an understatement. Although our Lady Dons lost the game 2-0, the kindness and graciousness extolled made the loss a little more bearable.

We wish to publicly thank the Lady Bruins, the coaching staff, and soccer parents for organizing such a classy act. We are forever grateful.

Kevin and Mary Davis
