WEST LIBERTY - The Tin Mill Employees Federal Credit Union is now offering financial services for its membership at its newest West Liberty branch location.
With its main office located in Weirton, the Tin Mill Employees Federal Credit Union recently moved from its prior location inside the student union at West Liberty University to a new site - a small building located along state Route 88 that once served as a post office for the town of West Liberty.
Kathi Smurda, manager of the credit union branch, said the firm recently was offered the opportunity to move into the old post office building - a site it shares with the town's municipal offices.

"The mayor came to me and offered that they would rent to us part of the building if we wanted to move," said Smurda, noting it gives the credit union an opportunity to serve both the people of West Liberty and the students and faculty of WLU. "We can now offer full financial services ... where before we couldn't do that on campus because we were limited. We didn't have the facilities for that."
The credit union offers a variety of financial services to members, including savings and free checking accounts, Christmas and vacation clubs, and loan, direct deposit and Visa debit card services.
West Liberty Mayor Rosie Miller said the credit union is a great fit for the new location.
"It's great for West Liberty. We never had a financial institution before, and this is our first bank/credit union ... and the community has received it very well," Miller added.
Business hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 Monday through Friday. The branch is closed weekends. For more information, call 304-336-7530.
