NEW CUMBERLAND - The Point Pleasant Ladies Aide held its Oct. 10 at the Point Pleasant Methodist Church on Wylie Ridge Road with Vice President Louanne Huff calling the meeting to order.

The theme was "Discovery," and tables were decorated with ships, globes, magnifying glasses, leaves, candles, ivy and maps, and the theme was continued through the luncheon.

Huff led the group in a blessing and lit the memory candle to remember members who were unable to attend due to illness, shut-in, obligation or traveling. The group gave prospective member Ilene Snyder a special welcome. Marian Caine gave devotions, giving a reading, "Shopping in Heaven's Grocery Store," where items such as patience, love, understanding, faith, wisdom, strength, courage, grace, salvation, prayer, peace, joy, song and praise could be purchased. Huff shared a reading, "Discovering God's Will."

Mick Goffoli read the minutes and thank-you cards sent to the group. Kathleen McDonald gave the financial report and announced the basket winners. Sharon Rice won the Old Time Fair basket, and Dan Herron won the Riverfest basket.
