WELLSBURG - A Wellsburg man facing multiple charges of sexual abuse and possession of child pornography was among 18 indicted by a Brooke County grand jury on Monday.
The grand jury returned 19 indictments against Luther E. Hendricks Jr., 43, of RD 2, Wellsburg.
Hendricks was indicted on four counts of sexual abuse by a custodian for allegedly engaging in sexual contact with a child under his care on four occasions between Jan. 1, 2009, and Nov. 2, 2011; 10 counts of possesion of child pornography; and five counts of displaying that material to a minor between May and September.
According to the indictment, the West Virginia State Police found several pornographic images involving children on his computer.
He also was indicted for failing to register as a sexual offender. According to the indictment, Hendricks, who was convicted of possession of child pornography in 2000, was required to register his e-mail address and didn't notify authorities of his new e-mail address, which he allegedly used to distribute child pornography to a minor.
