STEUBENVILLE - All area veterans are invited to take part in the 19th-annual Veterans Affairs Health Fair Saturday in the Steubenville High School Commons Area.
The free screening event will begin at 9 a.m. and will continue until 3 p.m., according to officials.
The screenings offered include vision, blood sugar, blood pressure and oral cancer, and flu shots will be administered.
Veterans eligible for VA health care can enroll in the health care system and have their photo taken for a VA identification card, officials said.
The event is sponsored by the Pittsburgh VA Healthcare System in partnership with the Jefferson County Veterans Service Commission and the Steubenville City School District.
Also, professionals will be available to provide information about the VA benefits, prescription program and the My HealtheVet, the VA's personal health record, as well as nutrition, women's health and the Ohio Veterans Bonus Program.
The local veterans health fair has been in operation since 1994, and more than 8,560 veterans have taken advantage of the free health screenings, officials said.
All veterans are encouraged to bring their DD214 form or separation document to the event.
