DONAHOE, James Harold, 86, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2012, under the care of Good Shepherd Hospice in Sebring, FL.
He was the son of the late James Leo and Bertha (Howsare) Donahoe.
He was born in Cumberland, MD, and resided in Beans Cove, PA, until adulthood.
Predeceasing him was his first wife: Bernice (Park) Donahoe; a son: James Steven Donahoe; and his sisters: Marie Williams, Lucille Lindner, Helen Null, Loretta Moore, and Freda Logue.
Survivors include his wife: Jeanette (Castle) Donahoe; his children: William Donahoe, Patricia Donahoe, Kathy Donahoe, and Rachelle (Carl) Reichley, all of Denver, CO; and Denise (Rob) Dallas, Tavernier, FL; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also stepchildren: Tammy (Scott) Norr, Virginia, Tom Castle, California, and Edward Castle, North Carolina. He is also survived by his sister: Jean Gaber of Bulger, PA; and a brother: Daniel (Agnes) Donahoe, Cumberland, MD.
Jim was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps having served in World War II. He raised his family in the Ohio Valley, but moved back to his beloved Beans Cove after retirement from Starck Van Lines in Weirton, WV.
He was an avid hunter and a great storyteller. Jim was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the American Rifle Association, American Legion, and Elks Club, in Weirton. He attended Spring Lake Presbyterian Church in Spring Lake, Florida.
At his request, he was cremated.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Adams Family Funeral Home, Cumberland, Maryland.
Visitation with the family will be from 10-11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice House, 1110 Hammock Road, Sebring, FL 33870, or the Food Pantry at Spring Lake Presbyterian Church, 5887 U.S. Highway 98, in Sebring, Florida 33876.
