Hancock County holiday home tour set for Nov. 17

The Hancock County Arts Council will host its third-annual holiday home tour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 17 at different residences in Hancock County.

The Dickens Carolers of the Hancock County Museum - which also be open, although not part of the tour - will ]perform at a reception hosted by the New Cumberland General Federation of Women's Club at the Swaney Memorial Library on Court Street in New Cumberland from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. to begin the tour.

Sites visited in any order include the Weirton homes of Joseph and Maria DiBartolomeo and Robert and Lea Shirer; the New Cumberland home of Marcy Grishkevich; the Homer Laughlin China Co. showroom in Newell; and the historic, early-1900s Chester homes of the former Tallman family, now owned by Robert and Shelly Reed, the former McDonald-Calcott home now owned by Cynthia Jackson and the 2004 Georgian styled home of Joe and Jodie Juszczak featured in this year's West Virginia Magazine Christmas issue.

After getting tickets stamped at all seven sites, visitors will leave their ticket at their last location to be entered in a drawing to win a $500 Fiesta gift basket donated by the Hancock County Arts Council, Top of West Virginia Convention and Visitors' Bureau and the Homer Laughlin China Co.

Proceeds from the $20 ticket sales are divided among the Weirton and New Cumberland Women's Club, the Chester Arts Council and Homer Laughlin China Co. for community-funded projects.
